Well, you can be a medical doctor or a non-medical doctor. Seeing as I hate needles, I’m going the PhD route. Let’s have a look at what that requires.

Before you even think about starting a PhD, of course, you need a bachelor’s degree. It helps to have a master’s as well, but that’s not a requirement; many schools have combined 5-year programs where you earn a master’s en route to the PhD. If you don’t have the master’s degree yet, now is a good time to stop and think about whether you’re ready for grad school. It’s not easy, that’s for sure; in fact, getting a master’s degree could quite possibly be the second hardest thing you do, with the hardest, of course, being the PhD. Has to be that way. Wouldn’t be much point in being called doctor if everybody and his brother was getting that title, would there?

So once you have the little details like your undergraduate and graduate degrees out of the way, you can start focusing on postgraduate study. The requirements for the PhD are pretty simple;  take a few graduate-level classes in so many areas, write a paper, present it, and you’re done! Of course, while it may sound easy in theory, the reality is quite different; graduate level classes, as you experienced with your master’s degree, are an order of magnitude more difficult than undergraduate classes, but they look like kindergarten compared to the thesis. Ahh, yes, the thesis. Or dissertation, depending on which school you attend. Whatever. This is required to be a piece of original research that makes a “significant contribution to the literature”, which in practice means it solves a problem that your committee thinks is important. Clearly, you must give much thought to choosing the correct committee. They’re the people who will hopefully be the first ones to call you doctor.

There are several methods for getting the old wax out and they range from simply scraping the old wax out with a knife or screwdriver which is common, but time consuming and can scratch the holder to using a form of heat to soften the wax and make it easier to remove. Some people boil water and place the holders in the boiling water until the wax is removed and others use a small flame to again melt the wax and let it ruin from the holder. A better way is too plan ahead and coat the bottom and lower inside with a drop or two of dish soap and this should keep wax from adhering to the holder.

VFC’s Airsoft replica of SCAR-H features the same features as its real world counterpart. The H is SCAR-H stands for heavy. The other version of the SCAR is lighter (SCAR-L).

The VFC SCAR-H is made of full metal and has the same features and controls of an M16 Airsoft gun or M4 series but with many improvements. The receiver of this gun is made from lightweight and durable polymer. The stock is retractable and at the same time fold-able to the left side of the gun and features an adjustable cheek rest riser for a more accurate sniping. It’s also textured to reduce or prevent slipping when it rests on the shoulder. The magazine release button is ambidextrous (left-handed and right-handed friendly) as well as the firing switch, to switch from safe to semi-auto to full auto. The front and rear sights are both spring loaded that flips up in place with ease and the bolt charger is fully functional. The flash hider, unlike the SCAR-L, is longer.

Internally, the gearbox is a Type Version 2 which fires up to 350 feet per second of muzzle velocity and is accurate to within 120 feet. The stock magazine is a high capacity magazine that can hold 500 rounds and features a realistic exterior. A continuous rail is integrated on top of the gun that can hold both a scope sight and night vision at the same time. Additional rail spaces are also available under the barrel right on the hand-guard (for Airsoft grenade launchers) and on both sides for flashlights.

Aside from its cool name, it’s even way cooler when employed on battle. VFC’s Airsoft version of SCAR is truly unremarkable. The features of this gun both fits Close Quarter Battles and the field as well. If this was made during Al Pacino’s infamous movie, it might have graced the silver screen and the Tommy gun.
