6 Tips That Add Curb Appeal To Your house

June 28th, 2010

When it comes to selling your Kingfisher OK real estate it’s vitally important to consider how your house will look when a buyers visits. Whether the buyer visits online or in person your house needs to have curb appeal.

It’s not unheard of for a buyer to take one look at the front of your house and simply walk away without as much as taking a peek inside. So what can you do to gain some curb appeal that might help in getting your house sold quicker and for maximum dollar?

To begin with put yourself in the shoes of a potential buyer and step out to the curb and take a close, long look at your house. Have a pad handy and write down things you think need to be repaired, replaced ,or re-painted.

Let’s go over a few tips to help you along.

1) Paint the exterior of your house: A fresh coat of paint in the right color scheme can be one of the best make-overs you can do.

3) Spruce up the landscape: Plant some colorful plants and flowers, replace old mulch, trim hedges and trees. Mow and edge your lawn weekly to maintain their good lucks.

4) Check out the condition of your front door.  Is old and weather beaten? If it is you might want to consider replacing it with a new hardwood door.

5) Make sure the front of the house is well lit. Add outdoor lighting is strategic areas and corner to make it look dramatic.

6) Clean gutters and windows. Add clean window treatment so that window look good from the outside.

5) Consider renting a power washer for the day. Go ahead and power wash your entire driveway, sidewalks next to your house, and don’t forget to power wash your front porch also.

As a home seller curb appeal can add hundreds of dollars to the sale of your house, and that little bit of elbow grease will go along way to getting buyers to make an offer.
