Bottle Coolers for the Small Shop
If you run a small shop you can get bottle coolers in a variety of ways – you can either buy them new, get them from a leasing company, or buy them second hand. Each option has its advantages and disadvantages, and they are discussed below.
Leasing
Leasing bottle coolers is simple enough – you pay a monthly fee to a company and they supply the cooler. The company will then service and keep the machine maintained for you so you won’t have to worry about breakdowns or servicing – the company will take care of all of this for you. Leasing can work out cheaper for your business, at least in the short term. The chances are though that if you have had a leased machine for a few years and it has not broken down nor had any problems then it would have been cheaper if you had bought a machine yourself – or a lot cheaper if you had bought second hand.
You could also get a bottle cooler for free from the big distributers of drinks – for example a distributer of Coke may give you a free or cheap Coca Cola cooler in exchange for you placing a certain number of orders each month.
Buying
Buying second hand bottle coolers is a lot cheaper than leasing – if nothing goes wrong with the cooler. It is advisable to get one from an online or local auction to get the best price. If you have just opened a shop then it is best to get one in this way since the customer you get at first may not be what you expect and you will need to save money until you build up a customer base.
Buying a brand new cooler is generally only recommended for shop owners that have run a successful shop for a few years and who don’t have to worry about costs.
