Choosing the Right Display Fridge for Your Business
Every business owner knows that presentation of the products is one of the best ways of advertising. When your products are properly and beautifully packaged and displayed, it will be more inviting to your customers. If you have a store or a shop, one of your priorities should be choosing the right type of display fridge – one that will serve its purpose in keeping the food fresh while maintaining an orderly and beautiful appearance.
There are many types available in the market and each type is designed for a particular purpose or product.
1. Island fridges – this is one of the most common types of fridge and is usually found in grocery stores. They usually have 2 sides or two glass panels that you can slide to the side. When you see them in grocery stores, they are usually used to store processed meat such as sausages, ready to cook chicken nuggets and other frozen meat, fish and poultry. Some bakeries also use this type of fridge to store ice cream in pints and tubs.
2. Upright fridges – an upright fridge can also be used for any products but are usually used to display gourmet meat such as steaks, turkey cuts, and other prime cuts of meat. They are often referred to as multi decks because they usually have 3 or more tiers. The cheaper models are also used to store and display dairy products such as cheese, butter and yoghurt.
3. Curved glass and deli cases – these are the type of fridge that is used by bakeries and patisseries in displaying cakes and other pastries. They usually have a drop of 450-600 mm from top to bottom and the covers are usually thicker since they are often opened and closed.
4. Low meat fridge – as the name implies, they are mostly used to display cut meats. The difference with the other fridge mentioned is that they are often used for fresh meat and fish. They are mostly open but you have the option to mount covers if that is what you prefer.
5. Wrap around cases – these are fridges that are often used to store and display fruits. There are two types to this case, the open wrap and the close wrap. An open wrap case usually has the cover on the top as it does not normally have a space inside the case for the cover. On the other hand, the closed wrap case has glass panels on the sides.
When you are in the look out for a display fridge for your business, you have the option to purchase the ones that are readily available in the store. However, you can have a custom built fridge if you have a more specific design in mind or if you have a more complex requirement. Prices vary from affordable to expensive. Since this is an investment for your business, the price should not be your main concern in choosing. The most important thing is that it serves it purpose and is durable enough to withstand heavy usage. Quality is of the essence; the higher the quality the lesser the need to have them replaced sooner than you intend.
