In everything that we do, we are guided by several rules that we tend to follow. These may come in the form of legal laws, office policies, corporate directive, religious practices, school guidelines, and good manner and right conducts. These things teach us what is right or wrong. All of these apply in our daily lives, and this includes your business cards. Here are some tips that you may consider

What you need to DO:

Make your business cards unique so they may stand out. You may need to consider some embossed business cards or other creative business cards for your business. Be sure your business card stands out to the customer and makes them want to call you back.

You should have enough of your business cards with you at all times because you never know when you’ll ever meet potential customers. You don’t want to miss an opportunity of having a customer. Who knows, that person could have been your biggest client.

The ideal moment to offer your card to a potential client is when you are ending the discussion. Follow that with a handshake and a thank you to make a lasting impression.

Handing out your business cards in person lets you connect with the person and ensure they will keep in mind your business. Also, try to give your cards to people who are interested in the services or products that you offer. This will give you higher chances of converting them into actual customers.

What you should NOT DO:

Generally avoid creating a bad impression when presenting a business card. For instance, don’t interrupt anyone who is having a conversation with somebody else just to give them your business card.

Never offer bent or torn business cards. This just gives them an impression that you don’t give importance to quality as a business or as a professional.

Ensure a personal relationship with your prospects. Don’t just leave stacks of cards at a restaurant or other public place because flyers are better in such instances.
