You don’t really have to spend a lot of money to reward yourself of something you deserve. In fact you might just find what you are longing for in simple things such as the casual apparels like cool hoodies. All of these goes down to preference, what is important is that you please yourself after all of the great effort you took.

I am always looking for new, hip cowboy boots to wear.  I have been collecting unique boots for about ten years now, and would consider my collection pretty robust.  I will go through what I consider to be my best boots.

My favorite pair of cowboy boots is easily the pointy Mexican cowboy boots that I purchased on vacation in Mexico a few years ago.  We were staying in the Riviera Maya and took a bus into a town where there were tons of shops with great deals.  I have an awesome little shop full of cowboy boots, and saw these pointy boots that I knew I just had to have.  They are dark brown, and I would say I wear them at least twice a month.

I bought a pair of zebra print cowboy boots late last year at a local mall.  I was a little hesitant to buy them, mainly because I wasn’t sure what I would really where them with.  I purchased them anyways because the price was right.  I do not wear them too often, only about every 3 months or so, but that doesn’t mean I don’t absolutely love them.  I look forward to wearing them all the time;  they are just so bold and vibrant that I save them to wear for special occasions.

Another one of my favorite pairs of boots is actually just your traditional light brown cowboy boots.  I love these because I can wear them for way more events and occasions than those other crazy boots.  I like to just put them on when I go to the mall or grocery store sometimes.  I go to tons of country concerts too, so they come in handy for that.  I think everyone needs to own a pair of traditional cowboy boots and a pair of outrageous ones as well.

Makeup samples are a permanent fixture in the modern world, but can they possibly have existed in the ancient world? That is hard to tell. But it is a fact that cosmetics were used by various ancient societies. In ancient societies, cosmetics were prepared from all sorts of natural materials. Various rocks were ground into powder, and sometimes heated to promote oxidation and color change. The resultant powders were sometimes used as eye makeup.

Various animal fats and plant oils may have been used to oil the skin or hair, or as a base to which certain colors could be added. These colored substances could then be used on the face to give the impression of a rosy complexion or on the lips as coloring. Red ochre was a popular item, used in various ways. Some cultures would apply it to the skin and leave it on for special occasions. Today we might be tempted to think of this as a combination face mask- foundation. Yet other cultures would apply red ochre to the hair and style the hair with this substance on it. This was likely because the hair was naturally curly and adding ochre to it made it easier to style by modifying its texture for as long as the ochre was wet and on it. It is also likely that, when dry, the ochre kept locks or braids in place and unlikely to unravel. It remains to be seen whether there were specialists involved in creating these homemade cosmetics or everyone was just expected to create their own batches for use at home. If the former was the case, then it is possible that ancient societies did have free cosmetic samples.

Like most guys, my brother isn’t the hardest person to shop for.  He likes most of the traditional guy activities and isn’t too picky.  I am sure there are some people out there that aren’t very good at picking out gifts, so I thought I would tell everyone what gifts I have gotten for my brother that he has loved the most.

The number one gift I have ever gotten my brother was a few years ago in the form of a ping-pong table.  I honestly thought it was going to get a good amount of use, but the amount we have played it has been amazing.  My brother, my dad, and myself have had some many epic battles over the years.  We honestly play it about 4-5 times a week.  If a ping-pong table is out of your price range, consider something like a dartboard, badminton set, or tennis rackets instead.

My brother is the type of guy who will complain about something, but never actually go out and solve the problem.  One example is with rain;  he always complained about how soaked he would get when getting caught in a downpour.  I decided to go look at raincoats and get him one.  I checked out the popular raincoat brands and got him the one I though he would like the most.  I no longer have to listen to him complain about getting drenched on the regular.  He loves the raincoat and wears it all the time.

Another item that most guys will love is a gift certificate to a upscale steakhouse in town.  My brother loves taking his girlfriend out for a steak and good wine, so I get him a gift certificate that allows him a date night with his love.  This is a gift that he will never get sick of.  I hope some people will find a good idea or two from this.  It doesn’t have to be stressful to pick out a great gift for someone you care about.
