Steps for mesothelioma treatments vary and it depends on the diagnosis. Many factors are needed to be considered before embarking on any kind of treatment. Factors like the cancer’s levels, location, level of infections and the age of the patient needed to be considered. Mesothelioma treatments are separated into two different stages, which are traditional and current mesothelioma. However, the traditional form of traditional mesothelioma treatment is quite similar to the methods that are adopted at treating other forms of cancer and it is further divided into three stages especially for patients that are suffering from contagious mesothelioma.

Surgery
Pleural mesothelioma can be treated with aid of a surgical procedure called extrapleural pneumonectomy or (EPP), which involves total removing the affected lung, also pleura diaphragm and the pericardium which covers the heart, is also removed. EPP cannot be the best for all patients suffering from the deadly diseases, so not recommended if the diseases is still at the early stage developments and had not spread to other body sensitive parts body like lymph nodes or any areas around the lungs.

Also, it is generally believed to be the most valuable means of managing plural effusion especially if the lung expansion is solely under the control of these diseases.

Chemotherapy – this is a way of using cancer fighting drugs or cytotoxic medicine to get rid of cancer. The drug comes in the form of tablets and it works by entering the body using the blood and travels directly to the cancer cells that cohabits the entire body system all with the aims of stopping the cancerous growth from spreading.

Radiotherapy – this is another one of the mesothelioma treatments that makes use of high capacity rays of light popularly called ultra violet rays to destroy of prevents the cancer cells from spreading to other parts. Application of radiation therapy for mesothelioma treatment depends solely on stage and the categories of cancer that is being taking care of.
