Quitting Smoking: Some of the Methods

With increasing numbers of people opting to quit smoking due in most part to the fact that we are becoming increasingly aware of the dangers of smoking, many smokers are now seeking treatment to stop smoking. There are a few means in which it has been found by the scientific community to help smokers kick the horrible habit of smoking. Hopefully I’ll be able to outline some of the more popular means to that people have implemented that have helped them stop smoking.

One of the more common ways to quit smoking is via hypnosis. Hypnotherapy and hypnosis are excellent means in which the unconscious mind can be untrained and to be brought into alignment with the desires of the conscious mind. Most smokers experience a withdrawal period due in most part to the frustration that the unconscious mind feels when the conscious mind decides to stop smoking. The unconscious will yell and scream to have its message heard – to suck on another cigarette to appease it. With hypnotherapy and hypnosis, one can change the unconscious thought process so that they match the conscious drivers of stopping smoking.

Acupuncture is another highly popular way that some have used to quit smoking. Acupuncture can speed up the quitting process as energy channels in the body can be activated by small needles that the acupuncturist inserts. It is these energy channels that can re-harmonize the body allowing for health of mind and body to quickly return after quitting. Some people will suggest that they find the quitting process much easier with the assistance of acupuncture.

Other common means to quit smoking include nicotine patches. Nicotine patches are designed to release nicotine to the bloodstream substituting the nicotine lost through the non use of cigarettes. Many doctors and help professionals will recommend this means as a way of reducing the withdrawal pangs of stopping smoking.
