Things to Consider When Looking for Ways to Fall Asleep!
If you are someone who struggles with sleep, you probably are keenly aware of the insomnia side effects. Not getting enough sleep can impact your performance all day long and make you feel as if you are in a fog. It also has a major impact on your overall health. In a 2008 study conducted at UCLA found that missing just one night of good sleep causes cell inflammation. Cell inflammation is associated with heart disease, arthritis and the development of numerous other health issues. Your body needs sleep to restore itself. This is when tissue repair, muscle growth and protein synthesis takes place. If you do not get enough sleep you are much more likely to become overweight. That, combined with the inflammation that not getting enough sleep causes makes you much more likely to have a stroke or develop heart disease or cancer.
As you look for ways to fall asleep, there are many things that you should consider. While medication is certainly an option, it is generally not the best way to start. You should first look for natural ways to fall asleep. Make sure that your sleeping environment is dark enough and that the temperature is conducive to getting a good night’s sleep. Most people sleep best at around 70 degrees, but since everyone is different you should experiment with what works for you.
If you don’t presently work out on a regular basis, this is something that you should add to your routine. Research indicates that exercise can help make it easier for you to sleep, and also improve the overall quality of your sleep. Ideally, you should work out in the late afternoon. At a minimum, make sure that your workouts are done at least three hours before you go to sleep.
