A Game With Corn Hole Bags
Corn hole is a game popular in the Midwest and almost rampant in several places like Ohio. The game is simple, but people love it. It may be its very simplicity that is addicting. Playing the game means throwing corn hole bags into holes in raised platforms. The name comes from the fact that the corn hole bags are filled with dried corn. Apparently, the corn dust from the dried corn helps the bags slide when they hit the platform. The game is played in innings as the teams throw the bags and try to get them in the holes or onto the platform to score.
If you have just gotten started in corn hole, you may not know what it is all about yet. If that is the case, you may be eager to get started and enter the nearest tournament. You have been practicing every day in your back yard, but are you really ready? It is true you do have a good game, but if you do not know the lingo you may find yourself feeling out of water. Getting a handle on the basic lingo used may make you feel more at home.
If you have gotten a “cornhole” it means that you got the bag in the hole. You do not want to get a “dirty bag,” which is a bag that hits the ground before it touches the board. If you get a “blocker” that prevents other bags from scoring, you will want a “back door,” which scores despite there being a blocker. It would be great if you got a “double deuce” at your first tournament because that means that you got four cornholes in a row. If you have a “slider” it means that the bag slides into the hole. Use your new terminology to impress and fit in at the corn toss game.
