Common Acne and Skin Care Myths

You’ve probably heard the popular notion that chocolate leads to acne.  You can probably find a great number of people who still believe this to be a fact.  It’s not clear where this popular acne myth came from, and it probably won’t die away anytime soon.  When dealing with severe acne there are several myths like these that cloud the situation.  No wonder so many people are on a continuing mission to get clear skin.  Real facts are out there, but some acne myths are so powerful that they can get in the way of proper treatment.

One thing that people are led to believe by many skin care companies is that acne can be solved within a matter of days.  They try to sell you creams based on this premise so that you will buy them.  But acne takes a long time to treat effectively and you can’t always get results from the most expensive creams.  You have to stick with a prescribed treatment for the designated amount of time in order to get the best chance for clear skin.  Jumping from one acne cream to another because they don’t act fast enough is a sure-fire way to damage your skin and waste money.

People will also offer you a variety of advice when it comes to how to get rid of acne.  They might tell you to tan in the sun until your acne disappears.  They might also suggest popping your pimples or washing your face as much as possible.  They may even recommend some harsher cleaning agents that are meant to scrub your acne away.  But none of these things will actually help to prevent or treat the acne you have on your face.  In fact, they’re likely to make the situation much worse.  When in doubt, consult your dermatologist to learn about the things that can help, and all of the rest that shouldn’t be bothered with.

There are many skin problems and conditions that people battle with every day but on top of the list is acne. This is such an embarrassing, uncomfortable and painful condition that mostly affects the face and the back. Most people deal with acne with their looks in mind over anything else; this is why they never give back acne as much attention as they do to acne on the face. I must admit that to some extent, acne on the back is worse than acne on the face, although treatment methods are generally the same. I say this because the back is often covered and sweats a lot and this affects the acne on the back.

Ways to get rid of back acne naturally

The field of medicine has advanced so much that there is treatment for almost every condition. However, before you set out to buy a cream or drug that you saw on TV, consider its ingredients and the effects it can have on your skin and health. Many forms of treatments may work well to do away with the symptoms but they come with adverse side effects that may not show immediately. This is why you should either go for remedies that are made of natural ingredients or better still just use home treatments to get rid of acne.

The top home remedies for acne include lemon juice, aloe vera, tea tree oil, toothpaste and oatmeal among others. There are a number of other points you have to consider in order to effectively deal with acne on the back and in any other part of the body for that matter as I am going to outline here.

a) Drink lots of water throughout the day because water will help in cleaning out the system, flushing out toxins and generally making the skin and beneath the skin healthy and clean.

b) Eat healthy foods and avoid ingesting junk foods, foods with preservatives and instead go for foods with fibers, proteins and vitamins like fruits, vegetables and nuts.

c) To complement the herbal acne remedy, take vitamin A to help cure the acne faster. You can take this through food, supplements or simply apply a product with natural vitamin A on the skin. You can also apply some natural products like dandelion roots, alfalfa leaves, burdock roots Olive leaf extract and straw berry leaves just to name the top to act as natural remedies to acne.

Healthy skin is prized by many people because everyone wants to make a good first impression. Every year, people buy millions of dollars worth of various skin creams that promise effective treatment for things like wrinkles, age spots, and acne. Some of these products work quit well, while others are questionable in their usefulness. Unfortunately, sometimes it seems like a guessing game in order to find the right cream for your skin type. And after hundreds of dollars spent, there is no guarantee that your skin will experience any kind of improvement. Thankfully, there is one thing you can do for your skin that works every time. Eating in a healthy way that ensures you get vital vitamins each day will go a long way to making sure your skin looks and feels great.

Free radicals are toxins that build up in your skin over the course of your life due to pollution and other negative factors of daily life. It’s important to help the body to eliminate free radicals as this goes a long way in how to get rid of acne, wrinkles, and age spots. Drinking water is great way to balance your body’s chemistry, but so is getting enough vitamin C which helps to keep skin strong in addition to keeping it safe from the sun. Vitamin C is best taken from whole food sources rather than supplements and this can be as simple as eating an orange. All of these things work together to create better balance in dealing with things like lines, blackheads, and scars.

Vitamin E is a great thing that also acts as an antioxidant to reduce the damage done by the sun. This can be found more in vegetable sources, and it’s best to eat them is as close to raw form as possible. Vitamin A is another popular substance that helps to repair skin after acne formation by easing the regeneration of skin. The great thing about these vitamins is that they will naturally be a part of any healthy diet. You don’t have to search in a health food store to buy pills or supplements, as it’s much more fun just to find new recipes that incorporate them into delicious meals. Your body needs these vital building blocks to keep itself healthy. So give yourself a hand and look to a more comprehensive vitamin-rich diet if good looking skin is your concern.
