You can find a lot of information about losing weight using a liquid only diet. On the most extreme liquid diets, you can not consume any solid foods. There are other types which drinking weight loss shakes in addition to eating a healthy and well-balanced diet. If you are thinking about liquid diet weight loss, it’s important to know the details of the options available to you.

Diets that involve consuming only liquids are very extreme, and can be dangerous. These should only be undertaken with the supervision of a medical professional, and you should talk to your doctor first about any health risks. The two most popular liquid diets are the Master Cleanse, and the Juice Fast.

Dieters on the Master Cleanse program can not eat any solid food for ten days. Instead, they drink laxative teas, a daily salt water flush, and “lemonade.” This special lemonade is a mixture of fresh, organic lemon juice, cayenne pepper, maple syrup, and water. This is a very extreme diet, and there are a lot of risks, including nutrient deficiencies, and lightheadedness.

Another type of liquid-only diet is the Juice Fast. People stay on this diet for anywhere from one day to over a month, and consume only fresh fruit and vegetable juices. These juices are made with the help of a juicer. Unlike in the Master Cleanse, you are still getting a lot of essential vitamins and minerals. In fact, they are absorbed more efficiently by the body because they are taken in liquid form. This is certainly a safer and healthier alternative, but you are still at risk of protein and calcium deficiencies, and should always have medical supervision.

Anyone considering liquid diet weight loss should be reasonable about the results you expect to achieve, and should keep in mind that much of the weight you will loose will be water weight. That means it will quickly be gained back when you return to normal eating habits.

Useful Information About The BMI Calculation

Many people have heard the term BMI, but don’t have a good idea of what the term means or why it’s important. If you’re looking for useful information about the BMI calculation, the information in this article might be able to help.

The term BMI refers to the body mass index. This data is used to assess whether a person is overweight or underweight, and how much body fat they might have on their body. A person’s BMI can be found by entering their height and their weight into an equation.

Many doctors and other people who work in the healthcare industry use the BMI to check whether or not a person is of a healthy weight. If they aren’t, they may receive instructions to help them either gain or lose weight, such as nutritional advice and tips on exercise.

Today, you can calculate your BMI via a number of methods. You can visit with your doctor and ask him or her to tell you about your BMI. Alternatively, you can go online and use a free calculator. In order to use these calculators you will need to know how tall you are and how much you weigh.

After you’ve figured out what your BMI is, you’ll need to compare it to the table of numbers which shows you which weight category you are in. If your number is too high, for example, it might mean that you are overweight, but if your number is too low, you are probably underweight.

The BMI calculation will not work for everyone. A small group of people may receive misleading results due to the amount of muscle that is on their bodies. For example, if you’re a healthy body builder, you can expect to have a high BMI because of the weight of your muscle. However, this doesn’t mean that you are unhealthy or that you have a high amount of fat on your body.

You can read more articles from Martin Elmer on the website Slankekure der virker. Here you can also learn more about BMI tal.

Avoiding Diet Patch Scams

August 30th, 2010

A diet patch is patch containing various herbal ingredients found in many pill form diet supplements that are absorbed through the skin to promote weight loss and speed up a persons metabolism.  The theory being the diet patch is that by absorbing ingredients through transdermal means as opposed to ingestion the body will absorb more of the active ingredients resulting in greater weight loss in shorter periods of times. Most diet patches contain several similar active ingredients including but not limited to guarana, brown seaweed or sea kelp, hydroxycitric acid (HCA),and flax seed oil.  Many so called diet patches also contain hoodia, a desert cactus similar to the aloe vera plant.

Guarana is a fruiting plant that contains a natural caffeine that is twice as potent to the levels found in coffee.  It is widely used in weight loss supplements and energy drinks.  Guarana is a natural stimulant that has been show to have some effect on increasing metabolism though there is not sufficient studies to predict it’s long term effectiveness in promoting weight loss.  Though regular use may help a person feel as if they are more alert and provide a small increase in energy.

Brown seaweed and sea kelp are good sources of iodine.  Iodine is said to promote healthy thyroid function.  Unhealthy thyroid levels can cause increased weight.  Iodine is also used to kill bacteria and you can find it in many first aid kits and also in pill form for water treatment.  If you are need of treatment for a  thyroid condition you should consult your physician.  Iodine can be harmful in large doses and high iodine levels can pose serious health risks.

Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) is an enzyme that is said to block carbohydrates from being converted to fat. It is wide used in many dietary supplements and weight loss pills.  It has been shown to have some effect in aiding the efficiency of  weight loss.

Flaxseed oil is an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids.  Omega 3 fatty acids are found in various grains and fish and help the body to break down fat.  Flaxseed oil and Omega 3 acids should be a regular part a balanced diet and have been known to aid the promotion of weight loss.

Hoodia, the most raved about of the active ingredients is a cactus plant that comes from South Africa. Being native only to Africa, Hoodia is not very abundant.  It’s popularity in weight loss products as an appetite suppressant has further reduced it’s availability.  Mass cultivation has caused the plant has become endangered.  Many weight loss products claiming to contain hoodia contain very little of the ingredient if any at all.  There is no conclusive testing to suggest that hoodia is in any way shape of form beneficial to losing weight.

While any or a combination of these ingredients may provide some assistance to increased metabolism and weight loss there is no miracle weight loss substance among them.  There is no inclusive evidence that absorption of these ingredients through the skin is any more effective than ingestion or to suggest a quantity needed to see clear fat burning results.  Diet patches aren’t any more effective that pill supplements and certainly aren’t a miracle invention.  Effective healthy weight loss can only be found through healthy eating and regular moderate exercise, and not through so called miracle diet patches.

How To Overcome A Weight Loss Plateau

If you are greatly overweight, it can be very easy to start shedding the pounds.  All you have to do is eat less and exercise more.  The problem is that as you get nearer and nearer to your ideal weight, the rate of weight loss slows down immensely.

This is very depressing for a lot of people and you might be at the point where you are eating as healthy a diet as you can and you are fitting as much exercise in as your work and family commitments allow.

What you are experiencing is a weight loss plateau.  The vast majority of slimmers experience it and feel incredibly frustrated by it.  The good news is that there are some tips on how you can overcome this obstacle yet also have time for yourself, your friends and your family.

The answer can be found in the best natural slimming pills.  OK, I know that this might not be what you’re looking for.  You’ve probably heard lots of stories about how terrible slimming pills are.  They are over-priced, don’t help you lose weight and give you terrible side-effects.

This certainly the case with many of the pills on the market.  Especially if you buy from a company with poor quality standards.  However there are a number of natural products on the market which will help assist your weight loss efforts yet at the same time offer no side-effect.

Of course, they won’t necessarily work for everyone and the reason could be that people don’t understand the different kinds of weight loss pill on the market.  There are three main types and these are fat binders, appetite suppressants plus carbohydrate blockers.

Which type you choose will depend on what weaknesses you have for food.  If you eat too much fat then a fat binder will work the best for you.  If however you don’t eat that much fat but eat a lot of bread and pasta, a carb blocker is best.  There’s no point in taking a fat binder if there is very little fat in your diet.  Basically, you aren’t giving the fat binder anything to bind to.  Whilst appetite suppressants work by tricking your body into thinking it’s full, so is best for those who have a propensity for over-eating.

As you can see, there’s more to slimming pills than you might think.  Researching the subject in full will allow you to make a good buying decision.
