Will I have Acne Forever?
Acne is ugly and embarrassing. Nobody enjoys it, and yet so many people are plagued with it. Finding an acne remedy that will last forever seems impossible. Some people get acne as a teenager and others get it later in life. The one question is, will it stay forever? The truth of the matter is that acne is a result of hormonal imbalances. As long as your have imbalanced hormones, there is a good chance your acne will stay.
Acne is a common problem for teenagers because this is when hormones first get out of whack. Pimples pop up from overactive oil glands and are hard to get rid of, even with medication. Some people claim it’s a myth that chocolate causes acne. Chocolate in and of itself might not cause it, but it sure can be a contributing factor.
In order to balance your hormones, you need to change your diet and lifestyle. A diet full of processed foods and sugar is bad, as is a sedentary lifestyle. Before you give up all hope, change your diet and lifestyle and in a few months, you’ll probably see results.
Cut out sugar, caffeine, and processed foods. Eat lots and lots of vegetables. Fruit is good too, but stay away from sugary, starchy fruits, and eat it in moderation. Cut out white breads and starches and eat a controlled amount of brown rice, whole wheat bread, and yams. The cleaner you eat, the better. Also, start exercising regularly. You might be surprised at how much help this can be.
Your skin might start out by getting worse before it gets better. Don’t let this frustrate you. As long as you are eating clean, it means it’s working. Drink lots and lots of water everyday. Drink at least 64 ounces a day. Moisturize your skin and keep it clean, but don’t dry it out with lots of strong medications. Aloe Vera is a great natural moisturizer that will also sooth your skin and reduce redness. Take a multivitamin everyday. Over time, healthier eating will help balance your hormones. For those with teenage acne, simply getting older may help get rid of acne as well.
