Where To Find A Left-Handed Electric Guitar

Are you a left-handed person who wants to learn to play electric guitar? Whereas in previous years, left-handers often had to resort to playing right-handed guitars upside down, today there is a wide variety of left-handed electric guitars available, so you have a greater choice.

Most well-known guitar manufacturers produce left-hand guitars at a variety of price levels. So whatever your requirements as a player, you should be able to find the guitar suit your needs. If you’re just getting started, you might want to go for an electric guitar starter kit, which will contain not only the guitar, but also various accessories that you need to get going with. Most packs include a practice amp, guitar strap, guitar picks and other essentials, and many are available in left-handed and right-handed versions.

However, as the variety of left-handed guitars is still not as large as their right-handed counterparts, you still might need to spend a bit of time looking around to find the perfect guitar for your needs.

When the time comes to buy a left-handed electric guitar, your local music stores may be a starting point, but remember that you’re not limited to what’s on offer here. It’s certainly a good idea to try out prospective purchases in person if you can, particularly if it’s an expensive model, but chances are you’re not going to find what you want, since physical stores are of course very limited in terms of the amount and variety of stock that they can make available. You may have better luck if you live near a specialist store that carries only left-handed guitars, although these are fairly rare.

You will probably want to look on the internet if you don’t find what you’re looking for in your local guitar stores. You’ll find a much wider selection of left-handed guitars online, since internet stores don’t have the space restrictions that physical counterparts do. They very often have lower overheads too, and will often pass the savings on to the consumer by offering lower prices than you’ll find locally. Many offer free shipping as well.

It is also a good idea to check out more general sites like eBay and Amazon, as well as specialist music stores. eBay offers lots of great bargains, especially those models which have been discontinued or are difficult to get hold of. Amazon is also a good bet, because it has a very large selection of musical instruments and other music-related items, and you’ll often find the lowest prices online here.

You’ll almost certainly find the perfect electric guitar for you if you’re prepared to put in a bit of time to do your search, and don’t just plump for the first one that you find.
